Writing Contests
Writing contests are an important part of writing online, and writing period.
Contests help motivate us, teach us, and inspire us.
I've attached links to some of the contests available on the web: (Come back often as this page is a work in progress)
My first link is for - writing competitions for teens and kids. It was during my first writing challenge in grade five that I realized I had talent. Contests help give kids encouragement and confidence. If this is something your kids are interested in, I suggest supporting it.

My second link is for creative writing competitions. If you've got skill, but don’t have the money to find an agent or publisher, entering a competition is the next best thing.
For a reference of different writing competitions check out firstwriter. This site is great because it has a variety of competitions from poetry, to fiction, to free contests and much more.
If you're looking to help your child or teen out with creative writing, check out education.ueuo.com which provides expert advice, features, columns, thousands of reference articles, and a community for parents of pre-school to high school students.
Remember contests help motivate everyone. And they are great goals to set. Find one, enter it, and start writing.
