The GTA is full of many creative writing courses and workshops. They are offered at various places from universities and colleges to bookstores and more.

Below you will find a list to help you get back to writing. Keep in mind that all these courses and workshops cost money. If you do pursue a course with a college or university, you will be given credit for it which you can use towards a certificate or degree.

The first link is to the largest selection of creative writing courses offered in the GTA. Of course this also probably the most expensive place to take a course, but if money is no matter, check out creative writing at the University of Toronto.

Not only do they have many creative writing courses, but they also have a certificate program available for creative writing. If you are thinking about writing professionally, this certificate is a great start.

I can personally vouch for this next link, Humber. I took one of their creative writing courses and found it educational and very inspiring.

Another place to check is the Women bookstore. This site offers different courses and workshops, so be sure to check back often.

Perhaps you want more than just a course; perhaps you want an environment, and the chance to hang out with other fellow writers, to converse and share ideas. If so, check out the Writers Centre. Of course keep in mind that there are membership fees if you do want to be part of the Centre.
