Robert Ludlum - Trevayne

I just finished reading the book Trevayne. I have been reading Robert Ludlum a long time. You might recognize such books as The Bourne Identity (Bourne Trilogy, Book 1), The Bourne Supremacy (Bourne Trilogy, Book 2), and The Bourne Ultimatum (Bourne Trilogy, Book 3).

The author usually writes action CIA, government type novels. I found this book Trevayne was more about the United States government, and a large corrupt party ruling the country behind the scenes.

Andrew Trevayne is a millionaire businessman, who is asked to chair a subcommittee to uncover the truth about this secret government organization. It’s a large organization that is running the United States, which the President doesn’t even know about. In the process of discovering the truth, his wife, and children are put at risk and along the way he is pressured to stop.

But in the author's true style, Trevayne doesn’t stop and even when the odds are against him, he finds a way to win. I like how the main character has strong morals and doesn’t care who gets hurt along the way. He has a job to do, and he doesn’t stop till it’s complete.

I enjoy reading action novels. I was a bit disappointed because this book was a long, descriptive read with not a lot of action. It was more political in nature, and dealt with lawyers, accountants and politicians. But if you enjoy a plot that is unpredictable, and weaves a good story, check out Trevayne by Robert Ludlum.
