Raymond Khoury - The Sign
The Sign by Raymond Khoury is a thrilling read. The book keeps you guessing up until the very end.
The Sign takes you all over the world from Antarctic, to Egypt, and to various places in the US with its fascinating plot. The story deals with religious conflict between Israel and Iran, and other current issues.
The main plot centers around two characters Matt Sherwood, an ex-con trying to turn his life around, and Gracie Logan a reporter on the hunt for the next big story.
The plot starts off when a sign appears over Antarctic during a major climate event; Gracie Logan a reporter is there to capture it live on camera. No one is sure what the sign is, or it's meaning.
Matt Sherwood is an ex-con who is trying to deal with the death of his younger brother Danny, when a phone call in the middle of the night changes his life.
Before he can find out more, the informant is killed spiralling Matt into a web of chaos he does not understand. It's not till he pairs up with a friend of the informant Jabba, that he begins to put the pieces together and discovers his brother Danny isn't dead but missing. Now he's on the hunt to find his brother.
Gracie and Matt's paths eventually cross and it's up to them to save the world from a religious war. And to stay alive against the people who want them dead to keep them quiet.
This book is fast paced, and is hard to put down. Every page keeps you guessing. Every time I thought I had it figured out Raymond Khoury threw in a twist I didn't see coming.
The Sign, is the first Raymond Khoury book I've read, but now that I know how well he writes, I'll be sure to read more.
