Michael Crichton - State of Fear

You may have already heard of Michael Crichton, if you've read or watched the movie Jurassic Park. The book State of Fear does not disappoint either; it is very detailed and hooks you in right from the beginning. If you enjoy environmental thrillers than you are going to love this book.

Michael is quite detailed in his knowledge regarding global warming, and other environmental catastrophes.

The main character of the book is Peter Evans, a young lawyer who is thrown into an adventure, after the death of his rich client, that he has no choice but to follow to the end.

Along the way he meets Sarah, Jennifer, Kenner, and others who race against the clock to defeat Nicholas Drake and the environmental disasters he has in store for the planet.

What is great about this book is it's very detailed on a scientific perspective. If you like real-life references dealing with the environment, or rising sea levels, then this is a thriller for you.

Reading this book opened my eyes and made me realize that not everything you hear on the news is true. In fact a lot of it is untrue and no real research is done before a story is released in the media.

A State of Fear has shown me that global warming is not the crisis we all were lead to believe.
