How to Increase Website Traffic
Keep reading to find out the tips and tricks of traffic. Okay, here’s the deal; to increase traffic your website needs to be ranked high in the search engines. Which translates to, it needs to be search engine optimized (SEO). A big way to increase your site’s authority is by building back links. What are “back links?” Backlinks are links that link back to your site. The higher the page ranking of the site that contains your link, the more important that link is. For you to be listed in the top search results, you need to get as many link backs to your site as you can.
There are a few ways you can establish this goal. Let’s look at the different ways to increase website traffic: Your website should be filled with content rich keywords. Before building your website you should plan what your target key words are. What words would people put into the search engine to find your site? Example: You have a pet store and you want to break into the online world. Your key words would be puppy, cat, dog food, dog toys, fish, birds, hamsters, cages, aquariums, etc.
To find your site, a customer would go to a search engine and type one of those words. Your goal is to have your site be one of the top listings for that keyword. Okay back to back-links. When you are ready to start, go to any search engine and type "free submit url". You will get thousands of sites that you can start submitting your URL link too. Directory Submitter is the best tool I have ever used. Submitting to directories manually is one of the longest processes to link building. Some people pay websites to do this for them, but I’m not convinced it’s effective. But with the Directory Submitter, you pick the sites you submit to. You pre-type all the fields before hand, and when each page pops up, it gets filled in. This literally cuts your work in half. It also conveniently contains databases of directories, so you don’t have to search for them. By using the Directory submitter you can change your page ranking in a day or two. Trust me I have done this myself with my own website. The other thing you can do to increase website traffic is write articles. Articles are effective because the databases usually have high page rankings, and are great link backs. Also if your website isn’t the top search engine result for a keyword, the article usually is. Remember the more important the site, the better the link back. Important sites, have been around for awhile, are popular, and have lots of traffic.
